Knitting a workplace oasis into Atlanta’s midtown skyline.
As part of NCR Corporation’s relocation to Midtown Atlanta, HGOR designed a 40,000-square-foot green roof that extends the workplace beyond the building envelope to create a dynamic outdoor environment within the city’s skyline. Positioned between two office towers and directly connected to sixth-floor amenities, the space supports a wide range of functions, from informal meetings to large corporate events. The design reinforces NCR’s vision for a transparent, engaging, and highly collaborative workplace while integrating sustainability and ecological performance, creating a setting that enhances both employee experience and environmental resilience.
A Flexible Workplace
Above the City
Located between the two towers, the green roof serves as an elevated extension of NCR’s workplace environment and supports a broad spectrum of uses. A central amenity space anchors the design, providing opportunities for both active engagement and quiet respite. The layout allows the space to adapt to changing needs while maintaining a cohesive and inviting character, offering flexible outdoor meeting areas, social spaces, and event capacity—all set against the backdrop of Atlanta’s city skyline.

Performance Through Landscape
The green roof is designed as more than an amenity, functioning as an environmental system that contributes to the building’s performance. Soil and planting systems provide insulation, reducing energy consumption and carbon output, while reintroducing native plant communities into the urban core reflects a broader effort to reestablish ecological systems within Atlanta’s dense urban environment.
