HGOR Named Master Plan Designer for Redevelopment of
Executive Park in Druid Hills

Executive Park To Be a Mixed-Use Development Named The Park Druid Hills

ATLANTA, February 19, 2008 – HGOR, a leading Atlanta-based planning and landscape architectural firm specializing in environmentally focused projects, has been hired by REIT management and Atlanta developer Taylor & Mathis to create a master plan for the redevelopment of Executive Office Park.

HGOR will create a mixed-use pedestrian environment for what will be known as The Park at Druid Hills. The development will occupy one quadrant of the Briarcliff North Druid Hills Quad Area Study, recently completed by DeKalb County.

Executive Park was developed in the 1960s as one of the first suburban office parks in the country.
The planning effort is representative of the transformation of what are known as first ring suburbs to more people-oriented, walkable urban environments.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this innovative project that will undoubtedly shape a new wave of environmentally focused and economically sustainable projects,” HGOR Principal Bob Hughes said. “We believe strongly in progressive development projects, and The Park at Druid Hills is another example of urban planning in the 21st century.”

HGOR most recently transformed a 15-block section of Atlanta’s most famous corridor into Peachtree Streetscape, a pedestrian-friendly urban sector complete with major road improvements. In 2007, HGOR planned High Street - a transit oriented, mixed use project within the Perimeter Center area of Atlanta.

HGOR is a nationally recognized firm that embraces the challenges of creating places of social value, economic sustainability and environmental stewardship. With a staff of planners, urban designers, landscape architects, environmental specialists and support staff, HGOR focuses on quality service and innovative solutions to complex design issues.
