Marketing Manager

HGOR, a planning and landscape architecture firm in Atlanta, Georgia, is currently seeking a Marketing Manager who will be directly responsible for facilitating the firm’s marketing operations, representing the firm to clients, peer organizations, and business associates at organizations such as ULI or NAIOP, supervision of the efforts of marketing assistant, and management of specialized consultants. This role will also include hands-on production of proposals and presentation material. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, self-motivated and collaborative person with a minimum of five (5) years of experience, in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry, and a degree in marketing, journalism, communications or related field.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains firm marketing policies and procedures
  • Creates marketing budget and reports to corporate leadership on marketing activities
  • Manages and maintains input into marketing information systems (resume and project description files, CRM, )
  • Manages and updates leads and opportunities
  • Manages support for marketing efforts, including proposals, general marketing correspondence, and government forms
  • Manages efforts to pull qualifications packages of existing marketing materials
  • Drafts general proposal sections and marketing correspondence
  • Develops background research on target markets and potential clients
  • Plans/coordinates special events related to marketing and business development (receptions, sponsored events, exhibitions)
  • Manages efforts including research and background related to organizational activities, conference registrations and membership for technical staff
  • Monitors websites and publications for release of RFQ/RFP’s
  • Manages updates to company website
  • Coordinates award submittals for industry awards
  • Maintains and continually works to improve firm brand
  • Oversees photography/media/public relations consultants and efforts, including implementation into general collateral
  • Directly manages and mentors Marketing Assistant

Abilities and Attainments

  • Demonstrates understanding of marketing and public relations, and working knowledge of firm’s business, policies, procedures, programs, and capabilities
  • Demonstrates knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and business writing style
  • Has excellent administrative skills, including knowledge of word processing and other computer programs (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat)
  • Experience with Deltek Vision a plus
  • Assumes complete responsibility for assigned tasks, including consistent follow-up
  • Demonstrates strong problem solving ability and sound judgement
  • Is resourceful and able to contribute and manage, both in concept and in implementation to marketing program effectiveness
  • Is well organized, persistent, tactful, enthusiastic and works well with all types and levels of people
  • Possesses good time management skills and ability to balance short-term deadlines against long-term goals with ability to manage last minute and urgent requests
